Hi Paul or any other listers email me on whitehead_colin@hotmail.com
I have a photocopy of the portrait of Sir John and one of John (1799-1869) both sent by Lyal Jackson some time back have lost contact, with him, Olaf Jason is author of Golden Feather and Artist Surveyors, have his postal address someplace.
Sir John Jackson and his wife were both painted by a famous portraitist in pastel, will try and find my references this weekend. Copies I believe in Golden Feather.
Received the 1894 cataloque last night sadly it has none of the portraits shown only listed. so back to square one on seeing what Lucy and Eliza Martha Pasley Daniells (nee Butler and Hodges) looked like as painted by Cosway.

If that is the case, do you have the source of the photo and/or portrait please? |

Sorry it's a photo of a portrait of Sir John.
Just just received this reply today a nice portrait of Honoria's father,
there is also a beaut one of his father on the net at present.
One of Eliza Martha Pasley Daniell nee' Hodges or her sister as a girl.
And I am awaiting a copy of the book that had Lucy Daniell, Nee Butler's portrait from 1894 exhibition
Dear Mr. Whitehead,
Thank you for your enquiry about the portrait miniature of James Daniall [museum no. P.90-1910]. If you consult this page of the V&A website, http://www.vam.ac.uk/images/image/11828-popup.html , you will see that this is the same James Daniell who was director of the East India Company from 1821, as you suspected. This miniature was painted c.1795-1800, and is water-colour on ivory.
Yours Sincerely,
Ewan Evans

The photo captioned Henry Jackson MAY be John Jackson, second son of Sir John Jackson, first baronet. It certainly is not Sir John, who predates cameras. |
